In our district, my role is to advocate for the needs of our multilingual learners and their families. Students and families of all cultures and linguistic backgrounds deserve respect and support.

Not only do we in the Multilingual Learner (MLL) department provide all the supports we can to help students achieve academic English proficiency, but we work to support home language growth whenever possible and to honor all of our students' linguistic achievements. I am also the district contact for the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy to make sure our all of our students are recognized and honored for their linguistic achievements outside of the English language.

En nuestro distrito, mi función es abogar por las necesidades de nuestros estudiantes multilingües y sus familias. Los estudiantes y las familias de todas las culturas y orígenes lingüísticos merecen respeto y apoyo.

En el departamento de Estudiantes multilingües (MLL) no solo brindamos todo el apoyo que podemos para ayudar a los estudiantes a lograr el dominio académico del inglés, sino que también trabajamos para apoyar el crecimiento del idioma del hogar siempre que sea posible y honrar todos los logros lingüísticos de nuestros estudiantes. También soy el contacto del distrito para el Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe de Michigan para asegurarme de que todos nuestros estudiantes sean reconocidos y honrados por sus logros lingüísticos fuera del idioma inglés.
